The Mayor – David Cyr

Responsibilities

  • economic / sustainable / social development,
  • administration & organizational structures,
  • communication and citizen relations

At 64 years of age, this accomplished businessman still thrives on challenges.

Now a consultant, David Cyr has founded and managed a group of companies mainly related to the hotel and tourism sector.

  • President of various NPO boards of directors,
  • Vice-President of the Mont-Tremblant Chamber of Commerce,
  • liaison officer for Richelieu International,
  • responsible for major fundraising events,

are only a few of his social implications.

He also resurrected the defunct Festival du PĂȘcheur which became the Festival PĂȘche & Plein-Air de Notre-Dame-du-Laus. This one has unfortunately been postponed twice (pandemic obliges). It will take place on August 4, 5, 6 and 7, 2022.

Since the sale of his businesses, he was a consultant for a while before becoming the General Manager of the Fondation du CH de Mont-Laurier, to then accept a two-year contract as Economic Development Director of the Municipality of Notre-Dame-du-Laus.

Today, he is very happy in his new role as a consultant. It offers him the opportunity to work with technology start-up entrepreneurs as well as investors in agri-food transformation or in the volunteer coaching of young entrepreneurs in hiscapacity as mentor of the Mentorat Network.

His career path has led him to work closely with municipal and provincial political actors. He had already been approached a few times to run in various elections. He had to refuse mainly to concentrate on his business, which led him to travel regularly between his Outaouais, Montreal and Quebec City branches.

His two-year stint in the municipal apparatus of his native village convinced him that it was the right time for political involvement.
